In short, Hard Seltzer is an alcoholic beverage that contains sparkling water, alcohol and usually some sort of flavouring. It is that simple. It is also known as Spiked Seltzer or Hard Sparkling Water and comes in various flavours and brands. Similar to Forest Hard Seltzer, the majority of existing Hard Seltzers has an ABV around 4-5%.
In Sweden, Hard Seltzer is defined as a mixed drink by Systembolaget. But we think it is something else. It is a new category that is growing faster than any other alcoholic beverages. It is a movement.
Hard Seltzer as a category has existed for a longer time, but grew very strong in USA during 2018 and 2019. Vox.com considered Hard Seltzer as the unofficial summer drink of 2019 in USA.
Forest Hard Seltzer is the first Swedish produced drink within its category.
